The scientific leader of OASIS, Denis CAROMEL, was first delivered to a small exercise of defining the term "parallel computing", which combines the latest technology available to organizations wishing to receive additional resources for accelerate the use of its applications. For remote nature, these resources must meet the constraints of the Cloud computing: 1) Provide resources "scalable" (that is to say, available at any time), 2) Access to this service via a web interface ( may eventually lead to a pay service), 3) do not require any new power user, other than those that are needed to use its own application.
The need for sharing resources rose permanently, as reinforcing the requirements of Green IT, and financial savings as the growing costs of hosting servers.
ProActive Parallel Suite, open source middleware co-developed by ActiveEon, startup stemming from INRIA
After this introductory presentation, the CEO of intervention ACTIVEEON Christian DELBE, put emphasis on one of the most spectacular ProActive Parallel Suite, according to its real-time visualization of network machines sought for in the calculations and data transfer.
This company has benefited during its creation in 2007 of a significant transfer of technology from INRIA and now provides co-development of ProActive Parallel Suite, as well as the support function to users. She collaborates with many partners (including MICROSOFT, ORACLE and HP) and serves customers from all walks of life, as distant as those of biotechnology, hardware and software architectures or finance.
relayed by a flamboyant presentation Simone BRUNOZZI, AWS (AMAZON Web Services) technology evangelist, presenting the solution was illustrated in the last part of the seminar, by 3 use cases especially significant, as the relevance of ProActive Parallel Suite in particular, that the inevitability of Cloud computing technology in general, given the advances which are already in areas as resource users that are the sequencing of DNA (presentation: The Brigant kevin, INSERM), the AGOS or combination GRIDS technologies and SOA (Daniel SERAIN, ORACLE), or algorithmic calculations to establish curves of titles looking fellows (Vincent GARCIA, I3S).
